Wurl Prepares for Global Expansion with Addition of Five Media Industry Veterans to Lead Business Development, Content Strategy and Sales

Joining the company are the former general manager of Comedy Central Dave bernath in a new role of Director of Business Development and Content Strategy; Former Vice President of Sales of Vubiquity Richard cross as director of business development based at London; former director of business development at Mediagenix Jose maria (“Joe“) Fregoso as director of business development, Latin America; Former Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Vewd Michael winneker as a company‘s Director of Business Development and former Vice President of Sales and Strategic Partnerships for Warner Bros. Deanne Lewis as director of business development. The five executives will report to Craig heiting, SVP Global Business Development, Wurl.
First quarter performance highlights include:
More viewers: Monthly active viewers increased 45% in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the fourth quarter of 2020, and 235% compared to the first quarter of 2020.
More Viewing Hours (HOV): Q1 2021 HOV was up 55% from Q4 2020. HOV for Q1 was up 279% year over year.
More ad impressions: Ad impressions on the Wurl network increased by 428% between the first quarter of 2020 and the first quarter of 2021.
More channel launches: Wurl added 100 new channels to its network during the first quarter of 2021, including Euronews, Bloomberg, QVC and many other international networks and studios.
Global growth: During the first quarter, Wurl also added nine new countries to its global footprint, including Belgium, Denmark, Finland, India, Ireland, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway and Sweden. Launch partners in these countries included streaming services Rakuten, LG, Samsung and others.
