South Texas man convicted of importing methamphetamine in tacos
A South Texas man has been sentenced to federal prison for importing methamphetamine in tacos that he attempted to pass off as “lunch,” according to a press release from the South Texas District.
Laredo resident Nicolas Castro Jr., 31, attempted to enter the United States through the Gateway to the Americas bridge in Laredo. Authorities inspected Castro’s belongings and found a plastic bag containing tacos and crisps. Castro claimed the food was his lunch, the statement noted.
