Second-generation Honda Amaze breaks 200,000 cumulative retail sales mark
Honda Cars India said on Friday that the new Amaze has passed a two lakh retail milestone in the country.
The company presented the second generation of the compact sedan in May 2018.
The model is one of Honda’s most successful models in India with cumulative deliveries of over 4.6 lakh units since the introduction of the first generation model in April 2013.
Honda Amaze is an important product for us and enjoys a strong market position in its segment. Amaze has been specially developed with Indian consumers in mind and the love and support it continues to receive from customers speaks volumes for its wide acceptance. It generates volumes for our business and ranks among the top-selling sedans in the country, ”Honda Cars India President and CEO Gaku Nakanishi said in a statement.
The delivery of the 200,000th second-generation Amaze unit is a proud moment for the Honda Cars India family and reaffirms its commitment to continue to introduce more such products, he added.
We believe Amaze is a great choice for customers who expect enhanced status, comfort and peace of mind from their first car, ”noted Nakanishi.
The car is powered by 1.2-liter petrol and 1.5-liter diesel engines, coupled with manual transmission and CVT options.
Honda’s entry-level product in the domestic market, Amaze has been specially developed for the Indian consumer and exclusively manufactured in India.
Constant focus and close cooperation with its India-based suppliers has helped the automaker achieve over 95% localization for the Amaze.
