an electric gathering of the global Energica community
MODENA, Italy, August 29, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Energica Motor Company, a subsidiary of Ideanomics (NASDAQ:IDEX) and a leading company in high-performance electric motorcycles, today announced that the dates for Energica Week 2022 are confirmed for September 5 – 9, 2022. This annual meeting of the Energica community was born in 2021 and laid the foundations to become the main event for the entire circle of Energica owners around the world. Energica is also celebrating exponential growth due to an influx of Ideanomics expertise and resources in sales, new dealers, market development, and plant and workforce expansion.
Throughout Energica Week, various activities will be organized to celebrate the brand of the Italian company and the community that strongly believes in an electric future: customers, dealers, students, investors and business partners.
The week-long festivities will begin with a ribbon cutting on Monday, September 5 at Energica’s headquarters in the heart of Italy’s Motor Valley, with Ideanomics, Energica’s Board of Directors, government officials and business partners and Energica sponsors. During this inaugural day, all guests will have the unique opportunity to preview the expanded space of Energica’s headquarters. The ModenaThe Paris-based company is doubling its headquarters to expand the production area and offices. With nearly 8,000 m², the new factory will be twice the size of the current facility.
The rapid build-up throughout this year predicts far greater opportunities, especially with the launch of the new Experia electric green touring motorcycle this summer, an all-new bottom-up design that has been universally acclaimed by the international motorcycle press. Examples of progress this year include an increase in the workforce of more than 20% enabling production expansion in 2023 and beyond and further development in both United States and the Rest of the World markets.
For the US market:
Since the beginning of the year, retail sales are five times greater than those of the previous year.
New dealer agreements expanded the US network from 14 to 25 dealers, including nine new states: Colorado, Hawaii, New Jersey, New Mexico, Utah and Washington State.
Pre-sale deposits have been received for more than two months of Experia production.
For Rest of the World markets:
Retail sales were up 104% year-to-date compared to the previous year, with two more months of production for the Experia thanks to customer orders.
Expansion to 95 dealerships, including scaling up in existing key markets of France, Germany and the UK and entry into entirely new markets, including Australia, Eastern Europe, Portugaland even Pakistan and Nepal.
Energica is well positioned to secure contracts with government authorities around the world, allowing them to replace fossil fuel motorcycles with Energica bicycles.
One of the main factors of this growth is the launch of a new business unit, Energica Inside, which will focus on the development of new technologies for powertrain components and modular powertrain systems for road, maritime, air transport and specific industrial applications. Energica has become the first point of reference for high performance vehicles and also for the supply of modular components and power units to ensure the integration of systems for electric vehicles.
The Energica electric hub revolution is becoming a driving force for a new generation of original equipment builders, and that’s what Energica Week wants to celebrate.
Activities for the remaining week will include:
September 7#StayChargedEDU: Education and innovation are Energica’s guiding principles and the world’s greatest legacy. The second day of Energica Week will be dedicated to the #StayChargedEDU initiative, the company’s plan to educate and engage the next generation of electric mobility. Schools and universities will meet with Energica’s technical department for a joint discussion of projects and ideas.
September 8-9 Energica Owners Gathering: The gathering of Energica runners will take place in the Modena racetrack to host #EnergicaOwners for several on-track and off-track activities.
Fifteen experienced riders will have the opportunity to train on real MotoEgo Corsa racing motorcycles inside the Energica Academy format event. Other owners will test the new Green Tourer Experia model launched in May. Complementary activities will follow to ensure a complete “Energica experience” for all Energica owners.
Energica’s history embodies several generations of know-how and technological maturity stemming from the traditional automotive industry of Italy’s Motor Valley. Energica takes the best of the past, present and future to move forward towards a new sustainable world. Customers will experience Energica’s dedication to them at its peak during Energica Week. They will also participate in special tours of the Energica factory.
